Introduction

SMS Overview

Objective: Understand the principles of SMS as required by GACAR Part 5 and EASA AMC for ground handling safety-critical roles.

This program integrates GACAR Part 5's regulatory framework with EASA AMC's ground handling regulations, ensuring a well-rounded, compliant training program.

Goals:

• Be Able Familiarize and Understand  SMS components: Safety Policy, Risk Management, Safety Assurance, Safety Promotion, and Documentation.

Regulatory Requirements: GACAR & EASA AMC

• GACAR Part 5: Applicability, general SMS requirements (GACAR §5.1, §5.3).

• EASA AMC: Guidelines for ground handling organizations on SMS implementation, including compliance for self-handling (GM1 Article 2(1) Scope

• Internal Reporting: Confidential reporting systems as required by GACAR §5.71(a)(7) and EASA recommendations for reporting systems in a Just Culture environment
