Sofema Online (www.sofemaonline.com) is thrilled to celebrate the achievement of one of our esteemed clients. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Nirupam Sarkar for successfully completing all SOL Diplomas and express our gratitude for his dedication and commitment.
Our mission is to support our clients by offering tailored training solutions that align with their individual needs. This is why we created our Learning Path Diploma Programs – designed to boost your training journey towards career success.
We had the opportunity to ask Nirupam about his training experience with Sofema and how earning the SOL Diplomas has contributed to his professional growth.
1. Completing all SOL Diplomas is a remarkable accomplishment. What motivated you?
Being involved with a Part 147 organization, it is an absolute necessity for me to stay updated and remain abreast of all the latest regulations and revisions. One of the best ways to achieve this was through the SOL Diplomas. The SOL Diplomas provide the candidate with an all-round deep insight into the relevant topics, thereby giving a competitive edge.
2. How has this achievement distinguished you in your professional field?
With the recent considerable changes introduced in the Part 147 syllabi by EASA, it has become inevitable for the Part 147 Trainers/Instructors to get trained on the latest regulations. Completing all the SOL Diplomas has greatly assisted me in developing and maintaining my confidence, knowledge and competency, which in turn has helped me with my Continued Professional Development (CPD) learning experience.
3. Can you share specific examples of how the knowledge from the Diplomas influenced your daily work?
These two Diplomas in particular: 1) EASA Part 147 Instructor Development Learning Path and 2) EASA Continuing Airworthiness Instructor Learning Path, contain courses like Public Speaking, Train the Trainer, Supervisor & Assessor Training, etc., which have immensely enhanced my skills in the context of Classroom Management, Knowledge Delivery and Practical Supervision & Assessment. Further, the SOL courses help understand and clarify simple but crucial information like the differences and correlation between SMS and QMS, Quality Assurance & Quality Control, Contracting and Subcontracting principles, PMA & EPA, TSO & ETSO, etc. An instructor can only guide his/her pupils if the concept is clear and known to the instructor. This is where the SOL Diplomas have benefited me the most.
4. What impact has the completion of all Sofema Online Diplomas had on your professional credibility and career growth?
In the current scenario, whereby the technology and regulations are constantly being updated at a rapid pace, it is not enough to stay confined to one particular expertise or specialization. Completing all the SOL Diplomas has helped me diversify my knowledge base and discover the unchartered territories which were hitherto unknown to me. Learning about new and varied topics has enriched my resume and made me eligible to teach subjects that were previously beyond my scope of approval.
5. How would you describe your experience with the SOL Diplomas, and would you recommend this path to others in the aviation industry?
The overall experience of completing all the Diplomas has indeed been very satisfying and lucrative. The three things that stood out for me were:
(i) Course Content & Structure – The Modules of the Diploma start with an introduction and overview, followed by definitions and abbreviations, regulatory framework and finally, the main topics. After each individual sub-module, there’s a short formative exam (which is not counted towards the final exam). After completion of all the sub-modules, there’s a final summative exam which can be attempted a total of three times before repeating the whole module. Upon successful completion of the final exam, the candidate can instantly generate and download the signed course certificate. The whole process is hassle-free and simple. Lastly, the learning platform is highly interactive with videos & pictures, and some courses have a Voice Over (VO).
(ii) Flexibility – The Courses are usually open for six months from the date of enrollment. So, the candidates have plenty of time to complete it at their own pace and convenience. The access to the LMS is 24/7. Also, recently they have introduced a system, whereby a candidate can have access to the course material even after completing the exam, which is definitely a bonus.
(iii) Post purchase customer support – This is one of the most vital aspects of online learning. I need to mention here that even on some non-working days/weekends, Sofema team has actually responded to my queries and has gone out of their way to support my learning journey. This fact is truly worth appreciating.
I would definitely recommend this learning path to others in the Aviation Industry who have the zeal and an inquisitive mind to gain more quality knowledge in the most effective and efficient manner.
