Introduction
Within Aviation in General and within the Aircraft Maintenance Environment (AMO) and aircraft maintenance management environment (CAMO), the recognition regarding the importance of managing competence in the workplace continues to grow in importance.
The Role of Third Party Training Organisations provides an essential service to support the competence building related to EASA Regulatory Training as well as best practice vocational training. Sofema Online sits at the forefront of this service with over 55,000 certificates issued since we launched in 2008 and over 7500 certificates issued since 1 January 2022.
What Does EASA Say? (Communication with EASA is held on file and can be shared on request)
- » The expression “training organisation acceptable to the competent authority” (also used in various AMC, such as AMC3 CAMO.A.305(g)) does not imply approval by the competent authority of such training organisation.
- » The approved CAMO/Part-145 organisation propose for the training of their staff certain (unapproved) training organisations, and these should be listed in the approved organisation exposition (CAME/MOE).
- » The Competent Authority may (for a particular reason) not accept a given training organisation to provide training to the approved organisation. In this case, they would require the exposition (CAME/MOE) to be amended with another training organisation before they approve the exposition.
What will EASA & Competent Authorities (CA) Expect from AMO’s & CAMO’s related to the provision of Regulatory training?
According to EASA, the competent authority will expect CAMO & AMO organisation to identify third part regulatory training organisations within their Continuous Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME) or Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE)
