Insider Threat in the Aviation Security
Insiders are individuals within an organisation who, intentionally or unintentionally, pose a security risk. An insider threat occurs when these individuals misuse their access, either to harm or exploit the organisation, leading to insider events. Motivations vary, from personal gain to ideological reasons. Insider actions can range from data theft to sabotage, revealing vulnerabilities within organisational structures. Identifying these behaviors helps organisations implement mitigation measures, such as increased monitoring, employee awareness programs, and strict access controls. Responding promptly to insider activities ensures the safety of organisational assets and maintains operational integrity. Effective strategies minimise risks and promote a secure working environment.
