SofemaOnline (SOL)  considers primary factors related to the effectiveness of Emergency Response Training Programs.

Training is essential for all levels of staff who are required to engage with the Emergency across a range of disciplines and activities

Training Staff for emergencies is a challenge for many organisations as there is no immediate benefit following the training, simply it is an insurance against exposure to an incident, accident, or unforeseen event and Staff who are not involved in Emergency Response Systems on a daily basis will need to have appropriate training related to their roles and responsibilities.

Note – without such competence building training it is unlikely that staff will be able to fully rise to the challenge of the occasion and ensure the most professional response and thus to protect the good name of the organisation.

Scenario-Based Training – Essentially there are 2 types of Scenario-Based Training:

  • Tabletop Exercise – where there is a basic activity to enable the checking of process, check sheets & contact sheets
  •  Full Simulation - with external stakeholders to test multiple elements of the ERP

What Training is appropriate for the different roles within the Organisation?

Training is essential for the Director's role to ensure that all aspects of the emergency are effectively addressed in a timely manner and all records are maintained throughout the emergency.
