Sofema Aviation Services (www.sassofia.com) and SofemaOnline (www.sofemaonline.com) Providing Guidance and Understanding Regarding Classroom, Webbex and Online EASA Compliant Regulatory and Vocational Training Courses.

Sofema Aviation Services (SAS) and SofemaOnline (SOL) have built up a portfolio of training courses which will by the end of 2018 number more than 500 Courses.
We are increasingly receiving requests for guidance as to the choice of the most appropriate course to take for a particular person or role within the organisation.

To provide an answer without a detailed understanding can be somewhat challenging as often the appropriate level of training depends very much on both the ultimate objective as well as the current knowledge level of the delegate.

To try to provide some general guidance please consider the following:

a) Concerning Foundation Courses

SofemaOnline offers a Foundation Series of online courses which are specifically designed to introduce people who are relatively new to the EASA Regulatory environment to the initial concepts which are used to deliver EASA Regulations.

So whilst Foundation courses are ideal for new starters or as a general introduction they offer only limited direct value for Seniors, and Execs within the organisation unless it is for building general awareness in complementary business areas.

b) Concerning Post Holders (Nominated Persons) and other Business Area Owners

Sofema offers Post Holder Classroom Training and Web Based Interactive Training which are the preferred way of ensuring the appropriate level of knowledge and understanding regarding the relevant subject.

SAS recommends that Post Holders receive some interactive training rather than only undertaking online in order to ensure a comprehensive understanding of Nominated Persons Roles and Responsibilities.

The Regulatory Authority considers that this group “Post Holders (Nominated Persons)” be considered as the subject matter authority within the relevant organisation.
It is important to ensure that any training is undertaken for the correct reason and the training medium chosen is appropriate to raise awareness and build competence.

Q: I am relatively new to the subject but will be assuming the role of Nominated Person / Accountable executive – what do you suggest?

A: Whilst a Classroom Training may be the most effective it is likely to be the most expensive option as well. Consider a package of training which includes a number of Online Course together with a “Top up” or “Bridging” Webbex for a few hours to ensure consolidation of information.

Q: How can I decide which training to Choose

A: Please read carefully the contents of the associated training alert – we have tried to provide as much information as possible to help you make the best choice

Q: I still need guidance what do you Suggest

A: Please provide as much information as possible concerning
a) Your current role or status in the Industry – Role, Responsibility & Experience
b) Your expected role on completion of the training
c) What you are expecting to achieve from the training course
d) Any additional information which will help us to help you

We are here to help you in the best way and the more information you provide the better we can do so, but please help us by carefully considering what you are looking for and sharing this information with us.
