Duty Material Planner / AOG Desk

The Duty Material Planner / AOG Desk is responsible to the Manager Maintenance Control to ensure that provisioning of parts, material & tooling is available to support the short term requirements and deferred defect rectification. In addition to expedite all material parts & tooling to support Aircraft which are AOG (Aircraft on Ground).

Will typically have 5 years minimum experience as well as recent appropriate managerial experience with a relevant materials provisioning background.

Primary Role to:

» Managing demands for materials and supplies.

» Liaising with Maintenance Control.

» Liaising with Operations.

» Supporting 145 Engineers.

» Technical Liaison with Suppliers.

» Quickly responding to AOG situations.

 Should possess the following:

» A sound knowledge of Aircraft Materials Tooling & Equipment.

» A sound understanding of safety management systems surrounding aircraft operating processes and procedures.

» Strong understanding of supply chain planning principles.

o Experience in supply chain and logistics within line maintenance.

o Previous experience on an AOG Desk is highly desirable.

» Proficiency in MS Office applications.

» Proficiency in English.

» In depth understanding concerning regulatory and compliance obligations related to Parts & Materials.

» Knowledge of procurement billing processes related to invoices, discrepancies and payment.

 Typical Duties Include the following:

» Actively Promotes Company's Mission and Values:

o Managing demands for materials and supplies.

o Liaising with Maintenance Control, Operations, Engineers and Suppliers.

o Quickly responding to AOG situations.

o Recording all actions in the appropriate system for tracking and tracing materials.

o Dealing with worldwide requests for materials and supplies.

» To ensuring that the provision of required spares to ensure that the aircraft are in operated in accordance with the limitations of the appropriate MEL.

» To ensure support for all scheduled maintenance material requirements are planned to reduce fleet downtimes.

o Ensure support for all out of service aircraft to ensure an appropriate plan to expedite repairs.

» Coordinate the logistics effort in support of AOG A/C and Loans, Borrows and Sales.

» Work closely with the Maintenance Control Duty Manager to identify AOG parts requirements and determines the best method of obtaining parts utilizing company inventories.

» Purchase aircraft parts from OEM's (Original equipment manufacturers), Boeing/Airbus, other airlines and aircraft parts brokers at the best overall cost to the company to support unplanned events.

» Initiates purchase orders and ensures receipt, payment and finalization.

» Develop metrics to measure and report departmental activity and service levels.

» Coordinates worldwide engine movement and tracking.

» Provide AOG Tooling movement and tracking.

» Borrowing of aircraft parts from other airlines.

» Loan and accommodation sales of company assets to other airlines.

» Air charter logistics activities to support OOS aircraft, materials/mechanics.

» Responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable working environment through timely and effective communication, with emphasis on Dignity and Respect.

o Schedules borrowed part removals within first 24 hours of borrow inception, and works closely with the line stations to ensure manpower availability. Coordinates with Engineering, Inventory Planning and Boeing/Airbus Technical Support.
