SofemaOnline.com is pleased to offer both EASA compliant Initial EWIS and Recurrent EWIS training for all Target Groups.

SofemaOnline.com (SOL) is a service provided by Sofema Aviation Services (SAS) offering online video training by qualified technical aviation instructors including UK Nationals as well as Russian speaking trainers in the field of aviation.

AMC 20-22 makes it very clear as to the requirements which are to be complied with to ensure the organization remains in conformity with EASA regulatory requirements.

Ultimately in accordance with the terms of the approval issued to Operators and MRO’s It is the Operators and Maintenance Organization Responsibility to comply with the requirements of Electrical Wiring Interconnect Systems working practices and procedures including specifically EWIS training.

When we consider the challenges of Electrical Wiring Interconnect System Inspection Standards we may appreciate that there are limitations as to the effectiveness of the Visual Inspection process so every effort should be made to support the most effective methods possible.

This course covers a detailed understanding of the specific requirements, but note that it is required to develop this training further within your organization particular to reflect your aircraft types and wiring practices. Effective: 05/09/2008 Ref AMC 20-21 AMC 20-22 AMC 20-23 Annex III to ED Decision 2008/007/R of 29/08/2008.

Considering EASA EWIS Target Groups 1 & 2 - What is the difference?

Target Group 1 - Qualified staff performing EWIS maintenance

These staff members are personnel who perform wiring systems maintenance and their training is based on their job description and the work being performed by them (e.g. avionics skilled workers or technicians cat B2). However please note that B1 certifying staff also possess the privilege to perform electrical wiring maintenance.

Target Group 2 - Qualified staff performing maintenance inspections on EWIS maintenance/inspections not involving wire maintenance (LRU change is not considered wire maintenance)

These staff members are personnel who perform EWIS inspections (but not maintenance), and their training is based on their job description and the work being done by them (e.g. inspectors /technicians cat B2). However please note that often B1 certifying staff often perform zonal inspections which includes EWIS Inspection.
