Steven Bentley CEO of Sofema Aviation Services www.sassofia.com and SofemaOnline www.sofemaonline.com is pleased to provide guidance on completing the online exams.

We Want you to Win!

From our data we know that 1 or 2 persons in 100 give up, but that is 1 or 2 too many – we do not want anyone to give up!

We deliberately allow 4 months to access the material because it is not a race and we want you to pass!

The whole point of the training course is to focus your attention and to draw you into the whole picture.

It’s Really Complicated!

Off course it is!  For example our CAMO Diploma has 13 separate courses and we expect you to take up to 1 year to complete the project. The good news is we are here to help you.

We have a mountain of information which we can share, when you are ready to acquire the knowledge.

We also have a download area to share information https://sassofia.com/download-area/

In fact if you demonstrate a need for information – this is where we will share it – with all our clients.

Linkedin Group for Technical Discussions

We are growing our Linkedin user group SofemaOnline User Forum and will be pleased to answer your technical questions here.

Through this group our users can share understanding and pool information.

Make it Happen

Step by Step is the watch word and as you proceed through the training, if you come up against a term you are not familiar – please do go somewhere else to read about it:

  1.  Do a little research
  2.  Remember that the training material is redacted (means it is not the whole story – it cannot be – we take a 500 pages and share with you 100 - 150 pages)

You are on a journey and we want to help you – so far we have issued over 20,000 certificates to the people who we have helped.

De-mystifying the EASA Environment

For example you come across the term STC  - Try here for additional information https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supplemental_type_certificate

Consider these terms Type Certificate Holder (TCH) / Supplemental Type Certificate Holder (STCH) / Technical Standard Order (TSO) European Technical Standard Order (ETSO) Parts Manufacturing Authority (PMA) etc. There are multiple terms to become familiar with and the goal is to present information to you in a way you can digest.

Its not a Race!

There is much to learn – but it is not a race

A person who fails at the first hurdle and gives up is truly lost!

Consider the words of William Edward Hickson

It's a lesson you should heed, Try, try again.

If at first you don't succeed, Try, try again.

Then your courage should appear, For if you will persevere,

You will conquer, never fear, Try, try again.

But I failed!

So you have failed – It’s ok, you have 3 attempts for all our exams.

Shall I Guess the Answer

Come on – Serious?  Do we guess in Aviation?

If you do not know the answer then there is still work to do – do not blame the material as the question is simply raising an issue which you should be comfortable with (means your not quite there yet).

For sure we do not promote “trick” questions, conversely the questions are not intended to be easy –  means we want you to know the subject and to benefit from both the material and our support.

First Attempt Failure

So I failed the first attempt – what does it mean?

Reality check that you are not as familiar with the subject as you thought you were.

So time to stop take stock – look at the subject material read around it – watch SAS videos on e-aviation. We have more than 60!

Read our Blogs – there are several hundred. In fact many of the questions you can ask have been answered through a blog.

Let’s Consider the Positives

  1. There is no time limit to complete the exam – the whole point is to understand the subject material.
  2. If you read a question and do not feel comfortable then stop! Take stock – please do not guess – if you think there is a problem or issues simply email online@sassofia.com

Let us help you to gain knowledge and competence and to help you to reach the standard you want to achieve.

Please see www.online@sassofia.com or email online@sassofia.com
