Introduction

As with the majority of organizational elements to be found within the MCC the key is to build on the basic understanding of what functions the MCC will perform.

An early decision relates to the decision whether to co-locate the Maintenance Control Centre (MCC) with the Operations Control Centre (OCC). When both units are co-located the organisations report more effective communications and improved coordination during emergencies and AOG Situations.

As previously identified all MCC roles are derived from the functional obligations to be found within EASA Part M regulatory obligations. The example shown here is a fully functioning MCC however it is possible to develop a significantly smaller unit - (as always it depends on the fundamental MCC objectives of the organisation).

Transport

It may be necessary for MCC personnel to physically travel to the Aircraft for various reasons which will require an allocated vehicle

Consider the Following Example Structure to Support 24/7 Working - for the purpose of the exercise the organisation operates 25 Aircraft in a variety of roles.

     »  MCC Manager 1 - Day Shift
»  MCC Admin Support 1 - Day Shift
»  MCC Duty Controller 5 - Shift - 5 persons (to cover leave 1 person operates as float)
»  MCC Assistant Controller/Planner 5 -Shift - 5 Persons - (to cover leave 1 person operates as float)
»  Senior Material Planner/AOG Desk 1 - Day Shift - (plus shift cover)
     »  Duty Material Planner/AOG Desk - Shift - 4 Persons

HeadCount - 17 Persons

Additional Activities

1/ Defect Analysis and Technical Support

Day Shift only 4 on/4 off 12 hours day shift 2 x B1 & 2 x B2 - 4 Persons

2/ Reliability

Total Project HeadCount 25 Persons
Max Persons Active Concurrently

     »
